Rudersdal Kommune is a part suburban, part rural municipality (Danish, ''kommune'') located approximately 20 km north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It covers an area of 73 km² and has a population of 55,080 (1 April 2014). Administratively it belongs to Region Hovedstaden. The Rudersdal Commune building, formerly known as Søllerød Town Hall, completed in 1942, was designed by Arne Jacobsen and Flemming Lassen.〔("Rudersdal Rådhus" ), ''Rudersdal Kommune''. Retrieved 5 November 2011.〕 On 1 January 2007 Rudersdal municipality was created as the result of ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), consisting of the former municipalities of Søllerød and Birkerød.
